We will be taking applications until december 31, 2019.
SUBMITTING A PROPOSAL
Your proposal doesn’t need to be a novel. Limit it to one page. Keep it short, quick and to the point!
Your idea can be about ANYTHING! Art, a business idea, a way to help disadvantaged populations – the sky’s the limit.
The idea must be about Downtown Bellingham.
We DO NOT email you to say that we received your application. When you hit the word “submit” a screen will indicate we received it.
Save your work if you want to retain your submission language. Once you submit your application there won’t be a reply email with your submission text included.
Anything you submit (except your phone number) will be used to print at the dinners, so make sure you edit, look for spelling errors, etc. before submitting. Note: Poorly composed submissions will be disregarded, we simply don’t have time to rewrite them for you.
Should you win the funds raised that night, you must attend the following BHAM SOUP to discuss the progress of your project.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE SOUP DINNER
Be prepared to make a verbal pitch of your/your group’s proposal to the audience. NO visuals, musical instruments, supplements, collaborative partners (in other words, no fancy bells and whistles – we just want to hear from you) are allowed during your pitch. Be prepared to take questions from the audience. You will have 8 minutes, so plan to use your time wisely.
The audience can ask you up to 4 questions total after their presentation.
After the presentations, audience members are encouraged to discuss/debate before voting.
Audience members then vote on what project they think benefits Downtown Bellingham the most. Including what is the most easily implementable with the funds available.
Whichever presenter gets the most votes wins all the money collected at the door!
